About

The name Zagami comes from Za- (part of my name) for my personal touch, and -gami, which is the japanese suffixe associated with paper and its art, which I take a lot of inspiration from, particularly what they call Kirigami.

I create unique works and limited series, all with custom options to adapt to your need, your taste and existing decoration. For those that have a specific theme or project in mind, I offer custom orders.

Designs are original and production is artisanal, combining traditional and modern techniques in order to offer decorations and/or gifts that are creative, elegant and harmoniously integrated in the home.

Your Order

To make sure each order is conforming to your need, I create on demand. This can generate some slight delays depending on quantities ordered and complexity of design (for custom orders). For custome orders, you will be informed of the time needed to produce your order during our exchanges, and a time-range will be included in the estimate.

For limited series artworks and cards, an estimated delay of 5 days maximum for production is expected, which can change if a large quantity is ordered.

This estimate does not include postal delays.

Every order will be completed in the briefest time possible.

Holiday Breaks :

Holiday breaks are to be expected in August and end of December each year. There will be no production during those times. Any order or message will be processed upon return in a timely manner. Thank you for your understanding.

Framing advice

The artworks are sol without frames, in order to assure it will arrive without broken glass, in a recyclable packaging. Once your order has arrived, you can then choose the type and color of frame most adapted to your need and budget.

A standard frame the size of the artwork or bigger including a passe-partout (mat), you can also ask me for a bigger background than the cut-out in the forefront. The standard frame will be the most economical solution.

My recommendation is to pick a professional framing, which will be the most adapted to beautify the artwork, even adding the possibility of original framing (deeper frame, lights or other). This option is a bit more expensive.

If the artwork is quite thick (for example the "Lotus" design), it is important to choose a frame that is a bit deeper than classic frames, in order to not flatten parts of the work. You can also choose a frame without a glass, but beware of dust (in that case, use a feather duster to lightly clean).

Behind Zagami

I have obtained a National Diploma of Plastic Arts specialised in textile design, in the Haute Ecole des Arts du Rhin (Alsace, France). My work, focusing on patterns in the organic and its representation was quickly combined with my expatration experiences and passion for the arts and cultures I've had the chance to interact with.

Union of tradition & modernity

I create the design usually by hand first, then transform it into a vector drawing on the computer. Once the design finished, I use a cutting machine, allowing for series production, more effeciency and therefore a lower selling price. Afterwards, I make touches and finishes with a scalpel, assemble the different elements by hand, always with a bit of relief. When part of the artwork, all painting is unique, done usually with aquarelle inks.

Among the different designs, there are various themes and inspirations, more or less complex, but always guaranteeing a rare, original and artisanal artwork, able to integrate harmoniously in any type of interior.

Environmental Commitments

The papers used (brands: Clairefontaine, Canson, Fabriano, Lana Colours and Ursus) are all certified FSC, acid-free and mass-colored, of french origin (or EU for a few). The packagings used for shipping are recyclable and eco-responsible.
